Francis Joseph o’Conner, Austin’s brother joined the 27th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers Reg No. 556 on 28 December 1914. He later transferred to the 30th Reserve Battalion on 1 February 1916. App Lance Corporal on 16 June 1916, Transferred class W to Colliery 10 August 1916. Discharged on 27 July 1918.
